My Story
Whenever someone would ask me "What's your dream job", I would say it's to become a Personal Chef, sharing my craft with others. I grew up in a family who planned our holidays around food and loved trying new things in the kitchen. We ate A LOT, and gave each other cooking-related gifts every birthday or Christmas. We watched and obsessed over Top Chef together, seeking out all the contestant's restaurants around the world to try new, delicious food.
I never really took my "dream job" seriously until 2023 when I was diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Disease and Crohn's Disease out of the blue. I was in kidney failure, with 10% kidney function left, and almost no symptoms. It was a massive shock because I was young, seemingly healthy, and no major health issues run in my family. This diagnosis was a big life disruptor - we moved our wedding up 8 months because there were many unknowns. I stopped working to focus on my health. I struggled with my mental health, like many others in my situation.

Soon after my diagnosis, my doctors agreed it was time to look for a kidney donor. A ~long~ year later, we identified a donor - my older sister was an HLA identical match, a rare outcome for organ donors. My sister donated her kidney to me in August 2024 and saved my life! I cannot express how grateful I am for her existence - but as sisters are, I will also never live this down for the rest of my life! I love you, Sarah! <3

Through these tough times, one of the only things that would bring me joy is cooking. It was an escape for me. I started to get better each day by trying new techniques, ingredients and cuisines. Since this health scare, my husband and I decided we should spend more time doing the things we love because nothing in life is guaranteed. - "Memento Mori". That is why I decided to start my personal chef business - I need to do the thing I'm most passionate about!

I am so grateful to be here and so elated to cook for you. While I love cooking everything, some of my specialties are: Homemade Pasta, Korean Food, any kind of Sauce, and Tacos. I love using fresh and local ingredients, and try to do so year round.
I am eager to see where this new chapter takes me, and I'm so delighted to have you with me along for the ride.
